Rumeli Fortress

Rumeli Fortress which is in Sarıyer, İstanbul includes a 30 dönüm (a land measure of about 920 square meters) area. It is a fortress which was built across the Anatolian fortress and a 600 meters long point of bosphorus where is the narrowest and catarrhal.  Fortress which is completed in a such a short period with 90 days, having three great towers and those towers have the greatest bastions in the world.

Rumeli Fortress is referred in Fatih endowment as Kulle-i Cedide; in date of publication as Yenicehisar; in Kemalpaşazade, Aşıkpaşazade and Nişancı dates as Boğazkesen Fortress. It is at the narrowest point of bosphorus in order to ensure marine safety.
