3rd INTERNATIONAL ISTANBUL OPERA FESTIVAL

Being one of the biggest organizations of Directorate General of State Opera and Ballet’s and opening its doors on the dates of 7th July 2012 and closing on 19th July 2012, 3rd International Istanbul Opera Festival will be hosting the performances at Istanbul’s best historical and authentic venues, such as Hagia Irene, Topkapı Palace, Yıldız Palace and Rumelian Castle.
Contemporaneously, Istanbul Opera Festival, which includes marvellous opera pieces and being a subject to Turkish culture and lifestyle, and combines them with this beautiful city’s ambience and authentic places, has been hosting world’s leading opera companies’ several ravishing spectacles.
Actualizing an analogous festival in Istanbul to those international opera festivals that became conventional at major cultural centers, defines its significance in terms of the consistency of this elegant and mystic city among the world art map. With this in mind, Directorate General of State Opera and Ballet is bringing ‘Opera’ to  the outdoors out of the indoor boundaries of the concert halls and to unite it with the audience at the pleasently breezy summer nights in the presence of magical and historical atmosphere of Istanbul. This festival, introducing itself to the Istanbulites and Istanbul visitors, attracts audience from all ages and places of the world and becomes a united whole within the historical places of the city.
